"I Miss..." is a collaborative art piece created and curated by Sam Mackey that highlights what people selfishly miss most about their normal lives during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spring 2020. Contributors submitted their entries in their own handwriting, where they were then compiled in a collaged, journalistic style. Through these entries, themes were established as multiple people shared similar points, emphasizing that they are crucial parts of the collective human experience. This project was created as a method of validating our own feelings of sadness, stating that people are allowed to be upset about their personal misfortunes while still simultaneously caring about the greater issue.
